“For six decades, I've been visiting schools, libraries, and community performance spaces to share my work as a writer and poet. I've written for all grade levels. I'm comfortable and experienced with student audiences from kindergarten through high school. I always tailor the content and focus of my programs to fit the needs of the audience. My usual programs for schools combine storytelling, music, and a brief discussion of my own writing with time for questions at the end. My son Jesse and I are an experienced father-son team who have been doing school visits together for three decades.”
