Copyright, Reproduction, and Use of Bruchac Family Materials

The Bruchac Family and Greenfield Review Press expressly reserve all rights in copyrighted photographs, writings, publications, artwork, recordings, research, and other original works owned by us or by the respective authors, photographers, artists, publishers, estates, and other rights holders represented on our platforms and in our publications.

Copyright protection generally arises when an original work is created and fixed in a tangible medium and does not depend upon prior registration with the U.S. Copyright Office. Making copyrighted material publicly accessible online does not place it in the public domain or, by itself, grant permission to reproduce, republish, or distribute it.

Except where expressly authorized in writing or independently permitted by applicable law, no permission or license is granted to copy, download, screenshot, reproduce, republish, distribute, display, modify, transmit, post, publish, or otherwise use copyrighted materials appearing on our websites, blogs, social-media platforms, or in our publications.

Permission must be obtained from the applicable copyright owner or authorized representative, which may include the Bruchac Family, Greenfield Review Press, an individual author, photographer or artist, an estate, publisher, or another rights holder.

Taking a screenshot, making a digital copy, cropping or modifying an image, or incorporating copyrighted material into another post, webpage, publication, video, presentation, or other work does not, by itself, eliminate copyright protection or create a right to reproduce or republish the protected material.

Many photographs, manuscripts, documents, recordings, and other historical materials appearing on our platforms are preserved within the Bruchac Family Archive and related family collections.

Where the Bruchac Family, Greenfield Review Press, or another identified rights holder owns the copyright, those works remain protected regardless of whether they have been registered with the U.S. Copyright Office.

Identification of an item as part of the Bruchac Family Archive does not, by itself, constitute a claim that we own the underlying copyright. Where copyright belongs to another author, photographer, artist, estate, publisher, archive, or other rights holder, our possession or authorized display of the material does not grant third parties permission to reproduce or republish it.

We expressly reserve all rights and remedies available under applicable law. Where copyrighted material is used without authorization and the use is not otherwise permitted by law, we may document and preserve the use, demand removal or cessation, submit appropriate copyright takedown notices, seek available damages, injunctive relief, or other remedies, and pursue legal action where warranted.

Our failure to object to any particular use does not constitute permission, authorization, waiver, or a license for that or any other use.

Nothing in this notice is intended to restrict fair use or any other use independently permitted by applicable law. Where no such legal exception applies, prior authorization from the applicable copyright owner or authorized representative is required.

If you encounter Bruchac Family photographs, writings, publications, artwork, music, recordings, archival materials, or reproductions or screenshots of copyrighted content from our websites or publications being used elsewhere without apparent authorization, please let us know and, where possible, provide a link, screenshot, publication reference, or other information identifying the use.

Reported uses may be documented and reviewed, and where copyrighted materials have been used without authorization or other legal basis, appropriate steps may be taken to protect and enforce the applicable rights, including through legal counsel and legal action where warranted.
